Every Day of My Life Is A Special Occasion

"Don't save something for a special occasion.  Everyday of your life is a special occasion."  By Thomas S. Monson

I woke up this morning.  Today, my life, my children, my husband, all add up to the MOST special occasion.
My grandmother saved everything...really...everything.  She would buy or be given gifts and she would save them for a special time to use them.  I remember she had clothes, shoes, hand towels, and placemats she had put up to save.  This always troubled me as a youngster,  why would she not use the nice things now where she could enjoy them now.  When she passed away a lot of the things she had put up to save were still put up.  She never enjoyed them.
Every day is a special occasion, THIS day will never come again.  I have learned through her to enjoy things and people today.  We are not promised tomorrow.  Are you saving things for a special occasion?

Ramblings of an Overloaded Mind: Days of Our Lives...My reason to blog...

Ramblings of an Overloaded Mind: Days of Our Lives...My reason to blog...

Days of Our Lives...My reason to blog...

I have been thinking,  how am I going to keep up with some of the things we do in our family, our school adventures, and mundane days?  I decided I need to blog about it!  I will have a permanent record of our lives to look back on.  It is also a way for family and friends to get a view into our lives.  So, here it goes.  :)  The Sparks Blog is up and running recording the days of our lives!
This week we have been getting in a lot of school work, since we are taking off next week.  Our big event this week happened Thursday when we dissected an earthworm.  Up next are the crayfish, a fish, and a HUGE frog.  I don't know about that frog...I have always hated frogs and now I have one in a sealed bag looking at me!  I will let you know how that goes when the time comes to open him up.   Here is our worm.
Grace has her learner's permit and I have been letting her do a great deal of driving.  She is doing very well, except for a few curbs that get in the way. Ha!  She isn't nervous at all!  We already have her a car and I am letting her drive it as much as possible so she will be familiar with that vehicle when she takes her driving test.  It is hard to believe she is old enough to drive!
Since we are taking next week off, I will get some much-needed deep-cleaning done at home.  Some outside work needs to be done too.  I am sure I will be plenty busy!
