I woke up this morning. Today, my life, my children, my husband, all add up to the MOST special occasion.
My grandmother saved everything...really...everything. She would buy or be given gifts and she would save them for a special time to use them. I remember she had clothes, shoes, hand towels, and placemats she had put up to save. This always troubled me as a youngster, why would she not use the nice things now where she could enjoy them now. When she passed away a lot of the things she had put up to save were still put up. She never enjoyed them.
Every day is a special occasion, THIS day will never come again. I have learned through her to enjoy things and people today. We are not promised tomorrow. Are you saving things for a special occasion?

ReplyDeleteI think MaMaw saved everything cause She wanted to save it for a special day. I think She lived Her entire life and let that special day slip away.I miss Her,.. She was a good woman. But I think She should have had that special day when Mr. Fred was alive. I think She knew this and regretted not living that special day with the love of her life.. She lived the last of her life trying to live some long lost day with Mr. Fred that never happened. I think she never stopped missing Mr. Fred. He was not perfect, but he was her soul-mate. I think MaMaw spent the last of her life trying to recover something she thought slipped away years before.. Thats just me talking here!
